The Renowned Musician Urges Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to support Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The track was produced in the wake of a solidarity show held in September. Initially planned to be done as a live recording, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists featured on Lullaby includes a range of well-known figures from the scene. All took part in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a significant sum for relief efforts.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was produced by a group of talented individuals. The single features a fusion of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Of course, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the region was noted for its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of buildings reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing that another narrative exists.”

The track is scheduled for release at the end of the week. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
