For those wanting a slasher-horror movie that provides mindless entertainment while making you wince, chances are Bone Lake has caught your attention. A recent scary film from filmmaker Mercedes Bryce Morgan debuted in movie houses on October 3rd with an outlandish setup and a suggestive title to suit.

A Blend of Levity and Terror

Given the title like Bone Lake and an introductory scene featuring characters sprinting stark naked through the wilderness—only to be shot with a crossbow in vulnerable spots—you'd be right there's plenty of comic relief all through the film. Additionally, the film's ending, which depict the central pair looking worse for wear yet chuckling madly together, carry a tone of dark humor.

The story concludes with Sage and Diego teaming up to escape Will and Cin's murderous intentions. What's interesting is that while, at the outset of the film, you perceive a huge gap in the partnership between Sage and Diego in relation to Will and Cin, by the conclusion, Bone Lake flips it upside down. Cin and Will split up to chase Diego and Sage, but Diego and Sage are communicating better now. They team up to slay the character Will with a power tool. They then turn on Cin, who dies horribly at the depths of Bone Lake's body of water—but only after Diego retrieves the wedding ring meant for Sage that Will had swiped and given to the character Cin.

Aftereffects

After all the chaos of their pair of slayings, smeared with bodily fluids, Sage and Diego sit together on the end of a vessel. Unexpectedly, this is the most intimate they've felt since the start of the story, given that all their relationship troubles have been exposed for each of them to see, and all they have left are their injured and sore physiques. As though to reinforce their new closeness and deep connection of one another, the character Diego leans over to slip the engagement band on the character Sage's finger and, when she looks to inspect it in the sunlight, the two start chuckling.
