Netflix Chooses Perfect Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Third Season

Baroque Works is set to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t unfold until season 3, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.

The platform declared recently that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will play a interpretation of that character reinterpreted as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag artist, in the live-action series, differing from the original manga and animated series.

This performer is joined by multiple fresh additions set to bring the group to the screen, including chief the main antagonist, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Even though the role is a important part of Baroque Works, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. With the second season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the part. In addition to their current animated role in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is due to premiere for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
