Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards took place on Thursday, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the biggest winner. This standout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Game of the Year award, along with prizes for Superb Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the developer's success, the skilled performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers won 7 awards during the show.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and Best PC Game. Notably, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the gamers, with only 4 awards—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
